Esperar tiene en inglés varias traducciones, entre las que se encuentran wait (for), await, hope y expect.
Se traduce por wait (for) cuando esperar se refiere al hecho de aguardar la llegada de alguien o de un suceso:
Hice el examen hace dos meses y todavía estoy esperando los resultados

La esperó media hora y después se fue a casa

El verbo await es un verbo de uso similar a wait for, aunque no requiere el uso de la preposición y no es muy corriente en inglés moderno:

«Te Espero» is a song by American singer Prince Royce and Argentine singer María Becerra. The song was released on March 3, 2022.[1] The music video premiered on the same day as its audio release.[2] The song samples Cutting Crew’s «(I Just) Died in Your Arms» (1986).

The video clip was directed by Julián Levy and its shooting took place in Buenos Aires for two days.[4] The concept of the video develops a love story supported by a sensual dance during a police investigation, where Royce appears with a bulletproof vest and armed to rescue María Becerra who finds himself in the middle of multiple shots and chases.[5]
